Winning for the Liberal Democrats
I was born in 1983 in London. I was raised in the UK, US and France.
Between 2002-2006, I studied Modern History at Trinity College Dublin, where I graduated with a first class degree. Between 2007 and 2008, I completed a masters
degree in International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political
Science. Later, in 2022, I completed a mid-career masters in Climate Change and
development at the School of Oriental and African studies, graduating with
distinction.

A More Prosperous, Caring & Connected Community
Between 2009 and 2021, I worked abroad with the United Nations and other international organisations, in countries such as Uganda and Afghanistan, focusing on food security, peacebuilding, migration and crime. I developed strategy and fundraising efforts, coordinated a global team and produced research to guide policymakers.
In 2021, I returned to the UK. Currently based near the Wiltshire Somerset border, I work with the Global Initiative as a Senior Expert, on a consultancy capacity. I also run a UK-based limited company, Genesis Advisory, which is focused on climate, peace and security issues.
Since 2022, I have engaged more on local UK issues. On a pro-bono basis, I actively supported the successful ‘Mayday Saxonvale’ campaign to promote more local engagement and ownership of the 20-acre brownfield site in Saxonvale, Frome. I have produced research on how local government can promote circular economic initiatives at the town council level. I subsequently became a Director, of the community interest company, Loop, which aims to promote circular economic activities in Frome. I have worked with Loop in a pro-bono capacity.
I have been a member of the Liberal Democrats party since 2016. My initial
motivation to join was based on my passion for tackling green and international
issues as well as the party’s commitment to remaining in the European Union.
On
returning to the UK in 2021, I began working more actively with the party. I am a
Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate. I have canvassed in the North Dorset,
Glastonbury and Somerton, and Salisbury constituencies.
Alongside my humanitarian, development and environmental work, I have also been active in writing. In Ireland, I won a national student award in 2006 for an article about Herat, Afghanistan, where I had travelled the year before. In my twenties, I began writing book reviews for the Times Literary Supplement. Since 2017, I have had articles on culture, development and travel published in the Guardian, Financial Times magazine, FT Weekend and Telegraph. I have also written articles focusing on farming, food security and climate change for the Aga Khan Development Network. I am currently writing a book about hunger.
